Objectives

1. To create a forum for Burma's rural poor to present experiences and thoughts about human rights, hunger and military rule.
2. To influence discourse on democratization in Burma by highlighting food security as a basic human right, and by proposing land tenure, land use and support for subsistence agriculture as key human rights issues.
3. To alert the international community to the nature of militarization in Burma and its effects on basic economic rights.
4. To promote the right of Burma’s subsistence farmers to manage and benefit from their traditional natural resource base.
